Floor maintenance
Concrete is as hard as well, concrete. Unlike many other floor treatments (wood, carpet, tile, etc) you now have a very low maintenance project. However, if you do not take some very basic and regular steps, eventually the sealer will wear down and you will start to wear away the top layer of the concrete. Unfortunately, once that happens the effects are permanent.
So, what are the basic and regular steps to proper acid stained concrete maintenance? So simple. Reapply wax on a “as needed” basis. And how do you know what an “as needed” basis would be? Well, obviously you marked spots on the floor in between layers of the wax like we mentioned earlier (right?). Once you notice wear on those marks, time to reapply the wax. A good estimate would be every six months to a year, depending entirely on the amount of traffic your particular floor receives.
Also, should I mention that mopping the floor is a good idea? Mopping with your standard floor cleaner is perfectly acceptable. I would avoid harsh chemicals and serious degreasers, but follow the guidelines on the product and you should be good to go.
